Salt Bush Residence
Salt Bush Residence is a class 3, permanent group home that was designed to provide High Physical Support under the Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) requirements within the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The dwelling can accommodate three residents within sole occupancy units, with provisions for carers. The design is a combination of private and shared spaces.
The project's approach was to exceed SDA requirements and design a home that feels welcoming instead of clinical. The shared spaces are thoughtfully designed to enhance this sense of warmth and hospitality. While bedrooms are private sanctuaries with access to external courtyards. The project delivers on the aim to offer accessibility and freedom to the occupants through design that supports independent living.
